Day 1 of the 31 Day Challenge - Red Nails

I posted a picture of this on Instagram on the 1st.

I love red, black and white combos so that's what I decided to go with here. The base color is Essie Size Matters. I did a sugar spun technique on the index finger with Milani Black Swift. The middle finger is stamped with Konad White using Pueen plate Pueen15. The ring and pinky fingers both have glitter from Hardy Candy Black Tie Optional and the pinky finger is stamped with the same image from Pueen15.

I love how this turned out! Especially the pinky.

Summer Challenge Day 39 - Red, Orange and Yellow Mani

Hi there!

Red, orange and yellow. This color combination reminds me of flames, wouldn't you agree? I knew I wanted to try water marbling again, but I thought maybe I could make the marbling look like flames. I kind of like how this turned out (even with a few bubbles here and there).

I used a toothpick to draw squiggly lines in the polish, cleaning the toothpick after each line. Then I would place the toothpick within those lines and branch them out to create the look of flames.

The polish I used for this design was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rapid Red.

Summer Challenge Day 34 - Bastille Day

Greetings!

I'm afraid I went with something very basic for Bastille Day. I may have mentioned already, that my SIL is visiting on vacation and it's practically a vacation for me as well. We've been running around, shopping, playing, and painting our nails - I love it!

For this manicure, I painted my nails with a white basecoat. On every other nail, I painted on a blue glitter polish from L.A. Colors. And finally, I topped it off with the LA Girl Cracked polish.

Summer Challenge Day 29 - Cricket

Hi there!

Wow, this was yet another sports challenge that I struggled with. Cricket. I know absolutely nothing about the sport, except maybe that it seems similar to American baseball. I searched through Google images on the sport and came across the ball used in cricket. The color looked a lot like a recent buy from the Dollar Tree...Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Elegant Cognac. After painting this as the base, I used white acrylic paint for the stitching and brown acrylic paint for the center seam.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day =)

Summer Challenge Day 21 - Picnic

For this challenge I decided to go the same route that many others have gone, and paint a picnic blanket with ants because it's just too cute! I used white, red and black acrylic paint and a striper brush. I finished the look with NYC Extra Shiny Top Coat.

Check it out!! The pattern matches my shoulder bag. I love this gingham look!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!

Summer Challenge Day 9 - Jubilee Street Party

Hi everyone!

I must apologize for not posting lately. My network has not been working the last few days and it's all because of my dog, Jack. I forgot to let him outside one night to do his business, so he did his business on our wireless router. Eww!!!

Anyways, the next day of the summer challenge is Jubilee Street Party. I don't know too much about this event other than that it occurs in the United Kingdom, so I wasn't able to draw much inspiration other than to do something with the country's flag colors. I had so much fun doing the water marbling for the previous challenge, that I decided to try it again. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the red, white and blue colors to mix as well as the other colors did but I still liked the flowery look to it.

My index finger was the last to be marbled and didn't bleed into the colors which was the look I was going for, but it doesn't have the same flowery look as the other nails, which I really liked. Oh well, with more practice I'm sure I'll get better at the technique.

Take care and have a great day!
